Hello there!
I have been preoccupied with the sound of the trumpet since I was four years old. I’m a freelance trumpeter and teaching artist in Philadelphia, where I live with my partner and our two young sons. I’m a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and I am currently enrolled in Coach Approach Training’s Coach Foundation Program. Inspired by my experiences as a musician with late-diagnosed ADHD, I am pursuing a Certified Neurodiversity Coach credential and the International Coaching Federation’s Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential. As a coach, I partner with neurodivergent musicians and creatives with executive functioning challenges. I intend to expand my scope of work to offer neurodiversity education and professional development to the institutions where musicians work and study - my dream is to break down barriers for musicians of all neurotypes and foster lasting, systemic change in our industry.
" I have spent 17 of my trumpet-playing years navigating undiagnosed ADHD. My personal highlight reel includes the time I got on the train to an audition with my trumpet case but no trumpets, and the time I arrived at a national competition having packed everything but my performance clothes. I won that particular competition, but no amount of accomplishment erased the daily frustration of, yet again, bringing the wrong mute or losing my keys, or the Herculean effort required to mask my hyperactivity in rehearsals. "
Coaching was so transformative for me that by my third session, I knew I wanted to become a coach myself. I am grateful to the Curtis Institute of Music for making coach training accessible to me through their Young Alumni Fund.
